Care guides

Here are some tips on caring for your fresh flowers:
Carefully unwrap your bouquet and recut 1cm off the bottom of the stems, at an angle.
Cutting at an angle increases the surface area from which the flowers can take up water, meaning they stay better hydrated. It also means the stems don't lie flat on the bottom of the vase, unable to drink
Place in a clean vase with fresh water and the flower food provided.
Fill the vase up to at least 3 quarters full - one of the main reasons flowers don't last is insufficient water in the vase. Be sure to choose a vase the right height and width too, as the stems need to be supported to help the flowers drink
Remove any leaves that sit below the waterline.
Leaves below the waterline will decay and fill the water with bacteria, contaminating and reducing the life of the flowers
Change the water and re-cut the stems every few days.
Once the stems have been cut, they begin to seal over, gradually making hydration more difficult. By re-cutting the stems (on an angle) every few days, you are re-opening the seal and making it easier for the flowers to continue taking up water
Always place your flowers in a cool spot, away from direct sun and heat sources like radiators or fires
If your flowers have been arranged by us in a vase, check the water level daily and top up when required
Change the water, clean the vase and recut the stems as above

Here are some tips on caring for your dried flowers:
Avoid direct sunlight
This can cause the colours to fade more quickly
Keep dry
Moisture and humidity can cause mould and drooping. Avoid placing them in bathrooms of steamy areas
Keep away from drafts and dust by shaking gently upside down when needed
Dried flowers can last a year or more if properly cared for
